SPECIAL EXHIBIT AT USHMM, PORTRAITS OF SURVIVORS
On the evenings of November 14, 15 and 16, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will be projecting portraits of more than 60 Holocaust survivors onto the exterior walls of the Hall of Remembrance. The program comes as the Museum is recognizing the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht.
The program is part of FotoWeek DC’s inaugural “Night Gallery DC,” a weeklong, citywide event featuring projections of photographs on the exteriors of museums and other buildings. Other participants include the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, American Art Museum and the National Museum of American History; the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design; the Newseum, and the Smithsonian Photography Initiative.
The display will run from dusk to 10 p.m. You can read our full press release here, and the portraits, all of which were taken by Museum staff member, Arnold Kramer, will also shortly be available on our Web site. A complete schedule of events can be found on the Fotoweek Web site here.
